The pieces embodies a play of glass in air, they are a result of an experiment in creating deep ruffles Translation of digitally simulated double-curved surfaces to glass folds through parametric molds. Kiln formed glass in Black and patterned White.
Research through making: translation of digitally simulated double-curved surfaces to glass folds through parametric molds.
A harmony of patterns and color is explored through the contrast of the soft linear texture of the white piece and the deep folds of the black piece. Translucency and refraction emphasize these design elements through the play of light.
Materials: Kiln-formed glass in shades
of brown, beige mirror, back-lit.
